There may be a person in the world that does not like the season of Fall. I would never want to meet such a person.
I love Fall. I love the crispness of the air. It’s cool but not cold. A light jacket that will not hinder your movements will do. Perhaps a light scarf that is more fashionable use than utility. The fashion alone is a reason to love Fall.
I love the colors of Fall. The sky always seems bluer, except when the gray cool days set in. The reds, yellows and oranges of the trees. The vivid pumpkin orange of pumpkins.
I love the flavors of Fall. Pumpkin pie and apple cider. Warm hearty stews and mashed potatoes.
Though often I complain about the early hour the dark sets in, I like the dusk as the sun sets and the real cold sets in.
I love Halloween and Thanksgiving, which are the holidays that define Fall.
I love the feeling in the air. There is a feeling which I can’t describe fully but feels like friendship and hugs.
In the Fall things taste better, look better and feel better. Even though we know the new year is trailing behind this fair season. That soon cold and rain and sleet and snow, depending on where you live, are about to rain down on us and leave us dreaming of the hot days of summer. In Fall there is a feeling of expectance. The exciting feeling before something amazing happens hangs in the air.
It’s Fall.
