This is about the only Beach Boys song I really like. I know that makes me an awful person but I find the Beach Boys to be just too chipper, its like a over dosing on sugar.
I like how this song starts out kind of slow with a piano like sound and then there is the drum beat and the song goes into its full sound.
The background singing is pretty amazing too. There is an album that has the songs broken down so you can hear just the background vocals. They do a lot with just their voices in this song.
I like the idea of the song too. Its so old fashioned compared to today in the idea that marriage will allow you more time to spend with the person you love. But I like the like “We could be married and then we’d be happy.”
