Choral singing + matching robes + rock and roll. Yes, polyphonic spree is strange. I really only know this song and the song they did on Scrubs. There is a way better version that they did on KCRW’s Morning becomes Eclectic but I can’t find it on the internet and don’t want to listen to full archived episodes of Morning becomes Eclectic. The shows with the band are on the website if you are hardcore enough to listen to it just go to kcrw.com and search for Polyphonic Spree.
But this song is so uplifting, how can you not feel happy after listening to it. The reason I like the KCRW version is they get faster as they sing. And that really adds to the joyfulness of the song. But this version still has the happy feeling.
I really like the choral singing. I know its cheesey but its also unique how many other rock bands have 90 people in them? It makes for an interesting sound for sure.
