Zero 7 is always soothing to me. It is like balm when all other music is sounding like pure noise. This is the first song I ever heard from Zero 7 and I loved the vocals on it. After all the rest of the song is almost white noise. I think that is why I think it is so soothing. There are drums, there are some synth sounds but you can let the music envelope you like a warm cocoon of smooth sounds.
Not to say this music doesn’t have any shape or emotion. I think the song definitely has a melancholy emotion to it. But it isn’t sharp in the way the song portrays the emotion. It eases you in. The perfect kind of music to take the rough edges off a bad mood.
