I have been on the fence about Kings of Leon for a couple of months. Sometimes their songs would come on the radio and I would groan and then other times I would I would enjoy the song and start singing along. I can not account for this random feelings about their music. Perhaps they are the kind of band you just need to be in the mood for.
Last night this song came on the radio while I was driving home at night and it was perfect. The sound in my car was perfect and the darkness of the road as I drove as this for the song track totally worked.
I think the guitars that seem to pick up and punctuate the vocals really moves me. I also really enjoy how crashy the drums are in this song. I am sure crashy is not a technical drum terminology but it is what I will use nonetheless. The distortion on the bass is also very rock and roll to me.
I have to confess I have no idea what this song is about. I didn’t even know they were saying “your sex is on fire” until I parked the car and really focused on the song lyrics so I could look it up later. The sound to me of this song is the focal point. The lyrics could be a grocery list.
