When I was younger, I loved 80’s pop music. Back in my teen years everyone listened to Friday Night 80’s. I bet most people my age can name off the songs on such a playlist. “Hey Micky” and “Whip It” were always played. Due to this over satuation in my adolesence of 80’s pop, I know tend to wince a little when it comes on. I have had my fill.
I am not sure if I really like this song or it is just so embedded in my subconscious, I can’t help but sing along. So if I can give it no other credit, I can definitely say it’s super duper catchy. If you can listen to this song without later in the day finding yourself singing under your breath “one thing, one thing…” you are a better person than me.
The music must have a particularly strong hook factor because the lyrics are like some sort of secret code for a CIA mission. I just read them and still have no clue what this song is supposed to mean. And yet later I am sure I will find the lyrics lodged in my brain. Perhaps this song was some sort of government experiment in New Wave music.
